Positive Steps to Global Leadership - This 2-day workshop focuses on the essential skills needed to change thinking and behavior from the local to the global mindset. Participants identify the skills they need, and create their own model of global leadership. Karen Hill Anton
Karen Hill Anton Karen Hill Anton, Managing Director of KHA Associates, is well known in Japan as the writer of the popular column "Crossing Cultures" (Japan Times 1990-99), and is widely respected for her no-nonsense approach to cross-cultural living. She has received praise from readers and critics alike as representing a successful model of cross-cultural adaptation. She also wrote the column "Another Look" (Chunichi Shimbun 1983-1997), a general commentary on Japanese society from the perspective of an American whose home is in Japan.

She lectures widely in Japan and abroad. Prominent lectures include: Japan-US Education Commission, Fulbright Program, JET Program Conferences; Japan International Science & Technology Center; Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management; U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Institute, Arlington, Virginia; the American Chamber of Commerce, Tokyo; the National Defense College of Canada, International Mobility Conference, Paris, France, and more than 20 Japan-America Society lectures.

Karen is a member of the Board of Governors, Temple University Japan, the Advisory Committee of the Jun Ashida Educational Foundation, and served as a committee member of an Advisory Council to former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto.

Working as a consultant with Eli Lilly Japan, she coached senior executives, and developed and delivered global leadership and global interaction workshops for clinical research physicians, scientists, managers, and sales personnel. Her clients include AIG, Citigroup, and Corning Japan.

Karen's professional development certificates, awarded by the Intercultural Communication Institute, are: Cross-Cultural Training in International Corporations and Training for Intercultural Competence in Organizations. Karen is a former Freeman Foundation Fellow, Institute for Education on Japan, Earlham College.

Karen Hill Anton has achieved sho-dan (first-level mastery) in Japanese calligraphy.
Originally from New York City, she is a permanent resident of Japan, where she has lived with her family since 1975.

Koichi Ohrui  -  Director, KHA Associates
Koichi Ohrui A graduate of Sophia University, Koichi Ohrui joined Eli Lilly, a U.S.-based pharmaceutical company, in 1968.

He has international and national business experience in a wide variety of development programs in the areas of: Finance, IT, Marketing, Sales and Sales/Management Training & Development.

Mr. Ohrui is the recipient of trainer certificates in People / Management / Leadership development programs, including: WLW Leadership Management/Counselor Sales/MIR (Management of Interpersonal Relations), MSC Interaction Management (Coaching and Feedback)/Human Assessment, and PIL Partners in Leadership.
At Lilly, he earned a Lilly certificate as Authentic Leader for: Supervisor & Manager Seminar; Performance Management; Introduction To Becoming A Global Leader, and Global Leadership Development Program and many others.

In 1999, Mr. Ohrui facilitated 5-day Global Leadership Development Program workshops for more than 70 Lilly worldwide global leaders, obtaining the International Trainer's certificate.

Beginning his consulting activities in 2002, he focuses on Global Leadership Development of young Japanese talent.

Born in Tokyo, Koichi Ohrui is married and lives in Takarazuka, Hyogo prefecture.
