◇ Description
The Global Daigaku.com / Alliant International University 2002 Essay Competition is open to all students in Japan, considering full-time degree studies at Alliant International University. Students must write an essay in English between 200-500 words on the theme: "Why I want to attend Alliant International University."

◇ Eligibility Rules

1. Essays, in English, should be between 200-500 words in length.
2. Students must currently reside in Japan, and be applying/have applied to the San Diego campus of Alliant International University for the Fall 2002 entry period.
3. 　
   1. Students must meet the admission requirements of Alliant International University.
   2. If a student is lacking the necessary English Language Requirement, the scholarship may be deferred until their first year of full-time study, provided the student successfully completes Alliant International University's EAP (English for Academic Purposes) Program.
4. Students must complete the Global Daigaku.com registration form and submit their essay online before April 30, 2002.

◇ Additional Information

1. Essays will be judged by a panel selected by Global Daigaku.com. To ensure fairness, contact details of applicants will be omitted from contest entries in advance of their review.
2. Contest winners will be notified by May 17, 2002.
3. All contest entries will become property of Global Daigaku.com and Alliant International University, including the right to edit, translate, and publish them at a later date.
4. Scholarship winners agree to have their names and photos published for promotional purposes.
5. Scholarships must be accepted as offered, and may not be exchanged, transferred, or renewed.

   The GD web site focuses on domestic, online, and overseas education and training options. The information varies from high school programs and college/university courses to professional training, and higher degree programs among others.

2. Counseling for Individuals
   GD counseling services: assist individual members in identifying and attaining both short-term and long-term goals; help locate and access the courses/programs most appropriate for their goals; and provide a support system for succesful entry into these programs.

3. Preparatory Courses
   The GD preparatory course system is composed of live and online courses to prepare members for smooth entry into MBA, IT, Finance, Business, and Overseas study programs.

4. Consulting for Corporations
   GD corporate consulting services include: human resource training consultation; employee testing, training, and monitoring; identification of core competencies; and the delivery of training programs in open seminar, live in-house, online, and overseas study formats.

5. Consulting for Educational Institutions
   GD educational consulting services include: leading edge course content and programs; the introduction of new software, learning platforms, and technologies; as well as access to prospective students, faculty, special instructors/lecturers, and other institutions overseas.
