Wollongong: a city within a city |

international communities, welcoming international students into a vast range of coursework and
research programs, and the relaxed and friendly lifestyle of the region. Located only an hour
from Sydney, site of the 2000 Olympics, Wollongong is the ninth largest city in Australia
(population of roughly 300,000). It has a colorful multicultural character and combines to best
advantage the benefits of a big-city living with the friendlier environment of a small city.
Wollongong is also a safe city, and as a result has attracted a thriving international student
population. It's glorious sunny weather and clean environment encourages an outdoor lifestyle
that takes advantage of the surrounding natural parks and beaches. The modern pedestrian
shopping malls, performing arts centre, entertainment centre, regional art gallery, wide choice
of restaurants and well-equipped sporting facilities make Wollongong an excellent place in which
