Welcome to Rainbow International Montessori School Institute
Accredited by: Montessori Centre International of London, England |
Rainbow International Montessori School was established in 1993, based upon the Montessori Method of Education, which was developed by an Italian Doctor, Maria Montessori in the early 1900's. Dr. Maria Montessori's philosophy of educating young children supports their individual development, uniquely. It observes the sensitive periods of children 0-6 years of age and helps to stimulate them while refining the senses and developing personality, during this most important stage of the "Absorbent Mind".
Our schools are set in a "home-like" environment which helps to promote a smooth transition from home life to school life. We strive to provide a child-centered environment, which nurtures children of different cultures and multi-lingual backgrounds.
We are pleased to welcome you and your child to our nurturing Montessori community.

Curriculum |
- Practical Life
Practical Life Activities are designed to engage children in "real life" daily
routines. These activities will strengthen their fine and gross motor skills
and lengthen their concentration span through repetition of work.
To encourage independence we provide activities in
- Care of Self (i.e. dressing themselves).
- Care of Environment (i.e. polishing, caring
for plants).
- Classroom Skills (i.e. cutting)
- Grace and Courtesy (i.e. greeting,
interrupting)
- Sensorial
The objective in the Sensorial area is to aide
the development of the child's senses and intellect. Materials are designed to
isolate a single character of each sense. The child will experience the
discrimination of weight, differences of color, taste, touch, and different
intonations of sound through proper use of the materials. These materials
connect to areas of Language development and Mathematics.
- Mathematics
In the Mathematics area children are introduced
to materials that encourage their continuous learning in the world of numbers.
They are taught quantity, solving problems of addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division, as well as counting to infinitive numbers.
-
Language
In the language area the children are enriched in an environment that exposes
them to many words, forms of poetry, and multicultural literatures. Letters of
the alphabet are introduced phonetically which help to guide the children in
word building and sentence structures.
-
Culture
In the culture area we offer a
wide range of activities developing knowledge and understanding of the World
through Music, Science, Study of Botany, Zoology, Geography, Japanese Language
& Songs, Dance, Art and Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arrangement).
