Whilst the programmes vary from centre to centre, they all share one common aim: to provide young people with the opportunity to learn English, develop their social skills, enrich their cultural awareness and have fun, while studying and living in a safe and secure environment.

Being part of the Summer School international community means meeting new friends from all over the world, hearing and speaking English all day, learning from qualified teachers, and being cared for by staff 24 hours a day.

There is a full programme including lessons and a wide range of sports, activities, clubs and Sports Academy options to choose from. There is evening social entertainment and two excursions per week.

Sports Academy

Sports Academy is for students with a special interest in receiving professional sports tuition in golf, dance, horse riding, flying, football or tennis. Lessons usually take place 4 times a week and are suitable for beginners and students of low or intermediate ability. Tuition is given by a qualified sports instructors and coaches.

Sports Academy is optional, costs extra, and must be booked in advance, as places are limited. Students may choose only one Sports Academy option per week and lessons take place during regular afternoon Activities or during students’ free time.

English & Activities at the following campuses

Lancing Campus Age 13-18

Lancing College, founded in 1848, proudly stands high on a hill with stunning views overlooking the coastal resort of Brighton, Sussex. The college is built around two quadrangles in a similar style to the Oxford and Cambridge university colleges, and boasts some excellent facilities.

Dicker Campus Age 12-17

St Bede's Dicker Centre is situated in the rural village of Upper Dicker in the heart of the Sussex countryside, close to the coastal resort of Eastbourne. The school is based on a former country estate, whose building form the core teaching activities and accommodation for students. There are excellent sports facilities at Dicker.

 

Windlesham Campus Age 10-15

Windlesham House School, which was the first school in the country to be established as a preparatory school, was founded in 1837 and has occupied its location since 1934. The campus sets at South Downs countryside of West Sussex, and it's closed to the coastal resort of Worthing and within easy reach of Brighton and London.

 

Vinehall Campus Age 10-14

Vinehall School is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty just outside the village of Robertsbridge, which is located close the small town of Battle and not far from the costal resort of Hastings. The centre is housed in a traditional country house constructed in 1830, which boasts many modern facilities.

 

Eastbourne Campus Age 7-12

St. Bede's Eastbourne is set high on a cliff-top with magnificent views over the whole bay of Eastbourne, in close proximity to the spectacular South Dawns and walking distance of the beach. This compact Centre, founded in 1895, creates the feeling of a family home.

It is a perfect environment for the youngest students.
