The University of Business & Finance Switzerland was founded by leading experts from the Swiss financial industry. It has its roots in the Institute for Finance Planning (IfFP Institut f«är Finanzplanung), a pioneer in Swiss financial education dating back to 1996. It was established as a private university with the goal of educating outstanding international business leader to prepare them for the challenges of a dynamic and rapidly changing world. UBFS provides state-of-the-art education through an interdisciplinary approach.
UBFS is endorsed by some of the most well-known banks and insurance companies in Switzerland. Its competence is best portrayed by a professional and highly qualified faculty coming directly from this milieu and from the Swiss academe. UBFS lecturers deal daily with their subjects of expertise, thus ensuring the practical and up-to-date content of the courses they teach.

International Management students face promising careers in corporate management, as well as individual entrepreneurial ventures with as strong focus on international business, while Hospitality Management students gain managerial skills necessary for dealing with challenges in the service sector, particularly in relation to the globalisation of the hospitality industry.

Curriculum

The 150-unit bachelor's and 90-unit master's programs include courses in corporate financial management, private financial planning - one of the hallmarks of the programs – bank & insurance management, asset planning & portfolio management, and culture, values, and ethics from a global perspective for students of BBA and MBA in Finance. Students in the BBA and MBA in International Management also take courses in strategic marketing and international trade law. Students in the MBA in Hospitality Management program also take courses in franchising in hospitality management, hotel operations management and environmental management. Each student chooses a concentration based on his/her own interest and career focus. Students participate in internships as required, where they gain invaluable experience applying business skills in real work situations.
