About Belleville
|
Our district population is less than 100,000 people providing all of the
conveniences, security and comfort of a small city. Belleville is two hours from
Toronto and Ottawa, and four hours from Montreal - each with international
airports.
Our community can be easily reached by car, train or bus. Recently, the Ontario Social Development Council ranked our region as having the highest quality of living in Ontario, ranking us #1 over all other cities studied, including Ottawa and Toronto.
Our area is known as a destination for outdoor fun, including skiing, boating, fishing, hiking, and camping. We have numerous museums, cultural organizations, shops, restaurants and a thriving arts community. Our community is surrounded by numerous universities, such as Queen's University, the Universities of Ottawa and Toronto, as well as Carleton, York and Ryerson Universities, plus several community colleges. This gives international students who graduate with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma a wide range of post-secondary opportunities.
