Included in an impressive list of accrediting agencies that approve McNeese State University degree programs
are the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and the American Assembly of Collegiate
Schools of Business (AACSB - The International Association for Management Education). MSU radiologic technology
graduates had a 100 percent passage rate on the 1997 national certification examination. The 1993 Pulitzer
Prize for Fiction was awarded to McNeese Professor of English, Robert Olen Butler. McNeese is the only
state-supported university with a $1 million endowed college of education.
McNeese State University is one of the most highly accredited universities in the South. U.S. News & World

The McNeese campus includes 46 buildings on the main campus, the 402-acre McNeese Farm, 65-acre athletics
plant and student apartment complex, golf driving range and Burton Coliseum. The student body of 8,000 can
choose from more than 70 degree programs. |
Housing |
Living on campus is a university experience you don't want to miss. ESLI/McNeese students live in McNeese
dorms on campus and have the convenience of only being a moment away from campus events, dining facilities,
library and the cultural experience of living with American students. Study rooms, kitchens, laundry
facilities, telephone and cable television are all available in all residence halls. The dining
facilities house a food court which includes Taco Bell. |
Activities |
McNeese offers a variety of extracurricular activities on campus. Jazz concerts,
fooze ball, tailgate parties,
a Mardi Gras ball and a homecoming parade are just a few of the activities enjoyed by the McNeese students.
The MSU Intramural and Recreation Complex offers more than 20 intramural and club sports. The Recreation
Complex features a 50-meter pool, steam and sauna rooms, three basketball courts, a Fitnet weight room,
racquetball courts and a 200 meter indoor track. All of this is available to ESLI/McNeese students year round.
