C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University |
 The C.W.
Post Campus of Long Island University offers the best of an American college education: excellent academics, many student activities
and a safe and beautiful environment just a short train ride away from the excitement of New York City.
C.W. Post is one of six
campuses of Long Island University, the seventh largest private university in the United States. Serving a population of
11,000 full- and part-time students, the campus is distinguished by programs of excellence with small classes in accountancy, business,
computer science, education, liberal arts and sciences, library and information science, health professions and nursing, public service,
and visual and performing arts. |
Services for International Students |
| The Office of International Student Services (ISS) provides international students with
orientation, immigration and employment information, personal counseling as well as workshops on adjusting to life in the United States.
The campus is also home of the English Language Institute, which offers a full-time Intensive English Program as well as a part-time,
semi-intensive program. |
Technology |
| The high-tech campus includes more than 500 computers for student use,
free Internet and email accounts, laboratories for music, multimedia arts and computer science, and networked "smart classrooms." |
Campus Life |
 C.W. Post
offers students a rich and vibrant campus life, with more than 100 clubs and organizations, athletic teams, sororities and fraternities.
Every day, several events - games, concerts, dances and lectures - are scheduled. The campus holds about 1,000 cultural and entertainment
activities each year. The modern Pratt Recreation Center includes a fitness center, basketball courts, swimming pool, aerobics classes,
racquetball courts and an indoor jogging track. The campus also features a respected performing arts center, an art museum and three
art galleries and the B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library is one of the largest research libraries in the northeast with 2.3 million
volumes and extensive online databases.
Residence Halls
C.W. Post offers several types of residence halls with traditional-style two,
three or four person rooms; suites with up to eight students sharing a common living area; an 'intensified study' residence hall for
quiet-time 24 hours a day; and a year-round residence hall for students who plan to remain on campus between semesters.
