Oregon State University, English Language Institute Scholarship
This contest is open to all students in Japan, interested in studying at Oregon State University and/or the English Language Institute (ELI) at Oregon State University. Students must write an essay in English between 200-500 words on the theme:

"Why I want to study in Oregon."

ąŁ Award Amount
Free tuition scholarship for one term of study at the English Language Institute (ELI) at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, USA. This award is ideal for Japanese students who do not yet meet the English language requirements for study at the university, as well as those students looking to simply improve their English skills in Oregon.

ąŁ Submission & Deadline Date:
Essays must be submitted via e-mail to campaign@globaldaigaku.com before March 1, 2005.


ąŁ Eligibility Rules:
  1. Essays, in English, should be between 200-500 words in length.
  2. Applicants must currently reside in Japan, and be interested in studying at the ELI for the 2005 Summer term.
  3. Students interested in continuing their studies at the university in the Fall of 2005 must meet all of Oregon State University's admission requirements.
  4. With the exception of tuition for one term at the ELI, all other expenses such as travel, accommodation, living expenses, tuition for additional terms, etc., will be the responsibility of the award winner.
  • Students must submit their essay via e-mail (include name, address, phone number, and level of study (undergraduate/graduate) if planning to continue to continue studies at Oregon State University) to campaign@globaldaigaku.com before March 1, 2005.

  • ąŁ Additional Information:

    1. Essays will be judged by a panel selected by Global Daigaku.com. To ensure fairness, contact details of applicants will be omitted from contest entries in advance of their review.
    2. Contest winners will be notified by March 31, 2005.
    3. All contest entries will become property of Global Daigaku.com including the right to edit, translate, and publish them at a later date.
    4. Scholarship winner agrees to have his/her name and photo published for promotional purposes.
    5. Scholarship must be accepted as offered, and may not be exchanged, transferred, or renewed.
