A bit about Green River Community College |

Green River Community College (GRCC) is the perfect place to live, study, and work in the United States.
GRCC is a fully accredited two-year community college located 35 minutes south of Seattle, Washington and
only a short drive from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac Airport). Our beautiful, safe, and
friendly campus attracts over 9,000 students including more than 400 international students from over 30
different countries. To assist students in their studies, GRCC¡Çs library has more than 100 computers,
CD-ROM, Microsoft Office system, Internet access, Photoshop, Scanners and a 56-drive CD ROM tower system
holding additional electronic reference databases. GRCC has a brand new Technology Center scheduled to open in 2005.
Students have wonderful opportunities for training and work in the Washington. Many large Corporations are
located in the state of Washington; Microsoft, Boeing, Nintendo, Weyerhauser, Starbucks, Amazon.com just to name a few. |
Educational Options |
We offer a wide variety of educational options:
- Intensive English Language: IESL -- no TOEFL score required, TOEFL Preparation, Academic Bridge program – English and academic study for students with TOEFL scores between 450 – 499).
- Certificates and A.A.S. Degrees (Associate of Applied Science) – these professional degrees allow students to study in a professional field, do internships, and have the option to work in the US for a year after successful completion of their program (OPT- Optional Practical Training).
- Academic Transfer Program (A.A. Degree) – this degree allows students to compete the 2 + 2 Program = 4 Year Bachelor¡Çs Degree. Our students transfer to such universities as; University of Washington and Seattle University, Purdue University, Indiana University, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, University of Wisconsin, UCLA (Univ of California Los Angeles), and many other top universities!
- High School Completion Program – students can complete a Washington State High School Diploma while earning credit towards a university degree.

Housing Options |
 Student Housing options include:
- Campus Corner Apartments – students can live in new student apartments on campus with their friends or with other international or American students.
- Homestay – students can live with an American family and practice their English while learning American culture
- Homeshare – students can live in a off-campus home with other students and share living costs while learning to live independently.

Student Services |
- One-on-one advising – students plan their academic schedules with a personal advisor
- Orientation – upon arrival, students are scheduled for ongoing orientation activities that introduce them to the campus, to each other, and to the local area.
- Housing Service – students are offered assistance to find housing options with the help of a personal housing advisor.
- Immigration Assistance – students have access to an advisor who assists with questions regarding immigration and immigration documents. This includes assistance with OPT (Optional Practical Training) internships and job search.

 Tutoring – students have access to on-campus, free tutors for courses they are having difficulty in.
- Fun activities – students have access to all student clubs on campus and enjoy the activities made available by International Programs¡Ç Activities Coordinator. These activities include; an overnight camping trip (free with arrival orientation), skiing, hiking, city tours, snow boarding, museums, theatres, music festivals and popular tourist destination trips such as Hawaii and Whistler ski resort.
