Let Your Passport Take You to a Whole New World at American World!
With three campuses located throughout Kanagawa and Tokyo, American World International Preschool and Kindergarten is a hands-on, child-centered early learning institution committed to nurturing each child in our care to reach their fullest potential. Our warm, dedicated staff and unique curriculum keep all of our students engaged and excited about learning!

Preschool
Students may attend Preschool 2, 3 or 5 days a week. Because Preschool is very often a child's first experience in a classroom, we want to make it as enjoyable as possible! Although parent-child separation can be difficult at first for both parent and child, our warm staff and engaging curriculum help even the youngest students adjust smoothly and happily. Most students generally adjust within the first few weeks and grow to love coming to school, seeing their teachers, and learning! The primary goal of our Preschool teaching staff is to nurture the overall development of each individual student, guiding them to become independent, self-confident and compassionate human beings through games, music, art, cooking and many other hands-on activities.

Junior Kindergarten
American World's Junior Kinder program provides a perfect stepping stone from Preschool to Kindergarten. At this time, this special program is offered only at the Okurayama campus. The Junior Kinder day runs from 10:00 a.m. to 12:25 p.m., and students may attend 2, 3 or 5 days a week. Most students generally adjust within the first few weeks and grow to love coming to school, seeing the teachers, and learning! Our staff is always ready to give a child a hug or kind, encouraging words to help him or her feel comfortable and loved. As in both Preschool and Kindergarten, the primary goal of our Junior Kinder teaching staff is to nurture the overall development of each individual student, guiding them to become independent, self-confident and compassionate human beings through games, music, art, cooking and many other hands-on activities.

Kindergarten
Kindergarten students attend class five days a week. While some of the Kindergarten students come up from our Baby, Preschool or Junior Kinder programs, others are new to American World and have varying levels of English proficiency ranging from beginner to native. This mix motivates beginners to excel and older students to mentor their peers, creating valuable learning opportunities for all. As in the Preschool and Junior Kinder programs, the primary goal of our Kindergarten teaching staff is to nurture the overall development of each individual student. The objective is for them to become independent, self-confident and compassionate human beings through games, music, art, cooking and many other hands-on activities. Our Kindergarten teachers want to make your child's early school experiences as enjoyable, exciting, and filled with growth as possible!

ESL Classes
American World offers both private and group lessons for children of all ages! Students are grouped according to age and level and may attend either 55-minute or 115-minute weekly lessons. Because children usually come to American World after their regular lessons at Japanese kindergarten and elementary schools, one of our biggest goals for these lessons is to allow children to have fun while learning English and building social skills. We want all of our students to love school and keep learning!

Thank you for your interest in our school! We hope to hear from you soon!
