Research intensive
As a leading research university, JCU provides excellent facilities for teaching and learning. English Language Studies
Students who do not already meet JCU's English language entry requirements can study English through the JCU-ELC (English Language Centres) in Townsville or Cairns and upon successful completion may receive direct entry (no further IELTS test required) into their preferred degree. www.jcu-elc.net.au.

The tropical environment that surrounds Cairns and Townsville attracts over two million visitors each year who come to experience the Great Barrier Reef and the islands and rainforests of the Wet Tropics – both World Heritage listed environments.
