Founded in 1985, and located on the 4th floor
of the Tokyo Union Church on Omotesando, Tokyo Union Church (TUC)
Early Learning Center offers a high-quality early childhood program in a safe, loving and stimulating environment.
The program has been carefully designed to meet the physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual needs of children ages
2-5 years,
and exposes them to various experiences to help promote creativity, taking initiative, independence, respect, awareness and empathy.
The Christian, non-competitive, community atmosphere also allows children to blossom to their fullest potential.
TUC Early Learning Center is a member of the Japan Council of International Schools. The school year runs from late August to early June,
with an optional half-day Summer School program offered through late June. Children in
the Polar Bear class who will turn six by September first of the
next school year will be prepared to enter first grade at the larger international schools.
The staff consists of qualified and experienced teachers from a variety of international backgrounds.
Each class is conducted in English and has a head teacher and an assistant teacher.
Although the school is primarily for native English speakers, there is limited space for non-English speakers.
The school warmly welcomes families of all cultures and religious faiths, and the current student body is made up of a rich, multi-cultural,
international mix. |

A number of events and excursions to places of interest are planned throughout the year for all programs. The curriculum is also
supplemented with a number of enrichment activities including Library, weekly Bible Stories, Kindermusik and Big Bear Little Bear Day.

Panda Bear Classes
This program is designed for children who will be three by December 31.
There are two programs to choose from (3 half days or 5 half days).
Afternoon Class Schedule: Mon & Wed 12:30 - 3:30 and Fri 8:30-11:30
Morning Class Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:30-11:30
Group Size: 10 children with 2 teachers

Teddy Bear Class
This program is designed for children who will be 4 by March 1 of the year following August enrollment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30-12:30
Group Size: 12 children with 2 teachers
A packed lunch is required.

Grizzly Bear Class
This program is designed for children who will be 4 by December 31.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30-2:30
Group Size: 20 (Grizzly/Polar combined classes) with 2 teachers
A packed lunch is required.

Polar Bear Class
This program is designed for children who will be 5 by December 31.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30-2:30
Group Size: 20 (Grizzly/Polar combined classes) with 2 teachers
A packed lunch is required.

Koala Bears
For children who will be 2 years by December 31st in the school year they enter.
Schedule: Wednesday and Friday mornings 9:30 - 12:00 noon
Group Size: 8 children with a head teacher and an assistant teacher.

Admissions |
| Parents wishing to apply for admission are asked to complete an application form and bring the child
to school for a short visit and informal interview. Interview times and information
regarding fees and tuition are available from the school office, and can be accessed through the following links.
