Vancouver Film School: A Dynamic Educational Environment
Vancouver Film School (VFS) is continuously in production. Each year students originate and complete more than 900 projects. They range from award-winning animated shorts, documentaries and to stunning interactive multimedia productions. The sheer volume of this productivity separates VFS from all other schools and defines it as one of the most dynamic educational environments in the world.

VFS is not a traditional school. Offering full-time training in Film, 3D Animation & Digital Effects, Maya, Sound Design for Visual Media, Classical Animation, New Media, Writing for Film & Television, Acting for Film & Television and Make-Up for Film & Television, VFS is a production house that teaches. Nine full time programs are housed in three campuses all within two blocks of one another in downtown Vancouver. At VFS, production is used as a primary educational driver. VFS takes instruction out of the lecture halls and places it in a continuing interactive process, with students engaged in the daily act of creating.

The VFS Difference
Image
Vancouver Film School is positioned to provide students with the necessary skills to get started on their career path as quickly as possible. VFS programs are condensed, allowing students to complete their studies in a concentrated period of time - under a year. The school takes much satisfaction from introducing students to their career far sooner and with greater preparedness than most similarly focused programs.

By offering six start dates each year, Vancouver Film School is able to continually modify programs in real time (as opposed to school time). In establishing partnerships with leading technology companies, VFS is able to catch major technology movement as it occurs. This solves the main challenges imposed by technology in education: navigating the massive volume of new information and keeping current with technology as it changes.

Vancouver Film School instructors have extensive industry experience. They have one foot in industry and one in education. At VFS, instructors are encouraged to continue to work on film, television, or new media projects while teaching. This enables them to keep up-to-date on industry trends, innovations and graduate employment opportunities.

Student Success
Vancouver Film School owes its global reputation for excellence to the consistent success its students have achieved in film, animation and new media festivals throughout the world. Graduates work in all aspects of entertainment and new media production in North America and beyond. Their successes range from international awards and screenings at festivals worldwide to credits in Academy Award-winning films; to start-up and award-winning new media companies; and to employment at major studios, in series television, and in large animation and effects houses.
