Wichita State University Graduate School
Wichita State University's involvement in graduate education began in 1928 with the creation of a Graduate School. The first graduate degrees were awarded in 1929 and, now, continue to be awarded throughout ten doctoral programs, an Educational Specialist program, and more than fifty-five masters programs. The Graduate School serves more than 3400 bright, dedicated, and committed students pursuing both degree and non-degree options. Approximately 14 percent of the graduate student population are students from countries other than the United States. More than 20 per cent of graduate students pursuing degree programs receive financial support in the form of a graduate teaching or research assistantship.

WSU's graduate programs promote the highest standard of learning and scholarship. Graduate students at WSU have access to outstanding academic departments, internships, and research opportunities. Therefore, we look for students who seek an integral role in vital research projects, active creativity, and evolving programs of academic study.

The TOEFL requirement for most programs is 550 (or 213 on the computer-based TOEFL). Some departments require a higher score.

The Graduate School has two intakes: January 15 (deadline is August 1) and August 15 (deadline is April 1).
