  • Tokyo English Life Line Community Counseling Service
    Exceptional Parents Group Workshop: "Raising a Son with Asperger Syndrome"


    Date: Friday, February 16, 2007
    Time: 10:00 - 12:00
    Venue: TELL Conference Room

    Presented by Sylvania Hohenthaner, M.A., International School Teacher & Mother. Sylvania's oldest son, who has Asperger Syndrome, will graduate this year from the international school where she has been teaching for the past ten years. She will talk about "loving and learning from parenting a child with Asperger Syndrome: the rewards and challenges."

    2007 Graduate Assistantship and Scholarship Information


    Deadline: March 1, 2007

    Incentives between $5000 and $12,500 will be awarded on merit to those who have performed better than average and to those who complete their applications by the March 1 deadline.

  • Queen's University
    The Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship

    The Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship at Queen's University is awarded to a second or third-year student of Japanese nationality (citizen) who is currently enrolled in a Japanese university, and who will study at Queen's University on a Letter of Permission from their home university. Application should be made to Admission Services by 25 March. Admission Services will forward all applications from qualified applicants to the Student Awards Office. Value: Approximately $30,000 (Canadian Dollars), this will include tuition, books and supplies, and basic living expenses (including room and board and one return economy flight home) based on guidelines established by Queen's University. A guaranteed residence room in Harkness International Hall will be available to the recipient if he/she chooses on campus accommodations.

    The completed application form and essay by deadline of 25 MARCH. A non-refundable application fee of $35 (Canadian Dollars), payable by cheque or credit card (Visa or Mastercard). The application will not be processed without receipt of the application fee.

    The deadline for receipt of all supporting documentation is 15 APRIL 2007.
