- The Economist Conferences presents
Seventh Roundtable with the Government of Japan:
Industry and government in partnership towards a revitalised Japan
Date: November 18, 2003
Venue: Hotel New Otani, Tokyo
In the run up to the Seventh Roundtable with the Government of Japan we face a leadership contest for the presidency of the
Liberal Democratic Party – hence the prime ministership of Japan – and a general election that must take place by next summer.
The political scene will undoubtedly change and policy prescriptions for a long awaited return to sustained economic growth will
come under the spotlight. We will be taking stock of the Koizumi premiership and assessing what we can expect from the
government over the next three years.
With the political scene in a state of flux, what can businesses expect in the way of an improved operating environment?
At the macro level how will the government tackle debt, deflation and the demographic problem? At the micro level how will
foreign direct investment, deregulation and privatisation change the business landscape and what opportunities lie therein?
WIN A FREE TICKET!
Special offer for Global Daigaku.com newsletter subscribers. Register for this event through the Global Daigaku.com website and be
entered in a special draw for a FREE second ticket to take a colleague or friend. *The winner will be notified by e-mail on November 11, 2003.
