Grace International Learning Center
(Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, JAPAN) - Ages: 1 - 6 years
The aim at Grace International Learning Center is not simply to prepare children for the big schools but to form minds that will be critical; minds that would question and not just accept everything that is presented to them. Which is why children are encouraged to explore, discover and come up with their own answers rather than give responses learned from rote or paper and pencil drills. The child's enjoyment and learning through these explorations are given more importance that the final product or outcome.

New Program Developments

Business Japanese Program
Naganuma School, also known as Tokyo School of the Japanese Language, has launched a new business program specially designed to help working adults with busy schedules learn Japanese rapidly and in a systematic manner. Class sizes are kept to a minimum (4-7 students per class), and interview-style placement tests ensure that students will be placed in the appropriate course level.

Further information on the program is available on the Naganuma Web site.

Temple IT Program Program
Temple University Japan (TUJ) has announced a major addition to its curriculum: The Temple Information Technology (IT) Program. This new program stems from a partnership between TUJ and iCarnegie, Inc, an educational affiliate of Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.A., the world's top computer science research and educational institution and software development training specialist.

The Temple IT Program, to be launched in September 2003, as part of TUJ's Continuing Education Program, derives its curriculum and strengths from Carnegie Mellon's expertise, particularly in software development. Designed to meet the educational needs both of those new to the IT field and of experienced professionals needing to upgrade their skill sets. Participants in the program will gain certification widely acknowledged to indicate expert capabilities in the information technologies needed now and in the future.
